Please restart your clients and Community Servers to make sure they receive the latest update to the game.

Changelog:


You will now be able to click through on screen popup messages
It will no longer be possible to destroy Sandstone buildings with Stone or Iron Weapons. Steel weapons will still be able to destroy them.
It will no longer be possible to destroy Stonebrick buildings with Iron or steel weapons. It will require explosives to destroy them
Weapons found in chests will not be able to hurt Sandstone buildings.
Projectiles (Arrows) will no longer do damage to buildings of any type.
We have added a “Player List” GUI to the admin panel. Admins will be able to use this to get a list of all the players currently connected to their server. From this list they will be able to ban unwelcome players from their server.

Attention, exiles! A new patch has been released!

Please be sure to restart your clients and Community Servers to make sure they are up-to-date!

Changelog:

Network usage optimizations

Server Performance optimizations

Server memory usage optimizations

Upgraded from sqlite 3.9.2 to 3.16.2

Players with high strength should now be able to knock out NPCs with the truncheon instead of killing them.

The Cutlass and Falcata should not be able to damage T1 buildings anymore.

Players should now be able to join password protected games from Steam Server List.

Fixed steam://connect/ip handling - Steam connect works now so that sites such as www.topconanservers.com should work properly now.

Fixed an issue in the Land Claim system that could allow players to build too close to other players. This may result in some lost building pieces if they overlap into land that had already been claimed by another player.

We have had some issues with the game state getting corrupt on servers in certain cases. We have made the interactions with the game database more robust, and added regular checks for its integrity during runtime. We have also fixed some cases where this would happen, but are still investigating if there are other potential occurrences.

As counter measures to the system, and since already corrupted databases will not be automatically recoverable we have implemented a recovery system:

On server startup, if the game encounters a corrupted Database it will attempt to recover to the last database backup that is not corrupted. This will make the status of the game be reverted to a previous working world state, which may result in loss of progression. To help with this, the game will now creating database backups much more often.

These are temporary measures while we keep working to eliminate the database corruption altogether.

Thanks for your patience while we work through this, and a special thanks to all of you who have been actively helping us diagnose and debug these issues.

Fixed potential server crash with chat system.
Fixed a server crash that could occur when "actors" left the world.
Postpone steam connection until the map is loaded (should help servers timing out)
Physx will now run on multiple threads on the server which should improve performance.
Thralls will now attack other human NPCs.
Thralls now change ownership on joining guilds.
Fixed exploit that could occur when players crafted foundations.
When joining a server that server will also be favorited automatically.
PS: We are still working on removing the crafting station bug.

PATCH 08.02.2017
 

A new patch has been released!


Please restart your games and servers to make sure they receive the latest update to the game.
 

  • Steam Connect and passwords should be working properly again. Which should help with services such as www.topconanservers.com
  • You will now be able to change filters on the server browser while the list is refreshing
  • The crafting bug involving duped phantom items should now be fixed (Praise Crom!)
  • Thralls will no longer attack unconscious NPCs 
  • After a few turns on the wheel of pain the server browser has promised to stop brutalizing network adaptors.


PS: We are working on the Clans crashing Servers and Disappearing Altars issues.

A new patch has been released!

Once your server has been updated, please restart your game and make sure it gets the latest update.

Added ability to directly connect to a server by entering its IP and port. This may be done from a new button on the bottom-left of the ingame server browser.

This is intended to circumvent the issue with connecting to LAN servers.

  • Performed optimizations to help reduce server lag.
  • Fixed certain cases where altars would disappear after a server restart. If you still encounter this issue, please let us know!
  • Fixed connecting to dedicated servers when a LAN server is running on the network.
  • The ghostly warrior to the southwest of the Exiled Lands has passed on to the next realm.

Happy Valentine's, Exiles. We have a special treat for you!

We've been paying close attention to your feedback over the past couple of weeks, and are working to release the biggest patch the Exiled Lands has seen to date! 

Look out for this patch in the next couple of days:
 

Performance and Tech fixes


• Fixes to loading screens
• Server Performance Fixes
• NPCs should be less jittery when rotating
• A fix for connecting to servers via the Steam server browser and when using Steamconnect
• Buildings should now load in much faster
• Placeables placed on foundations and ceiling tiles will now be saved correctly
• Several improvements to how rocks behave when they are harvested

 

General Bug Fixes and improvements


• Small Placeables will no longer claim land (!)
• NPC Camps now have their own land claim to prevent people from building so close to them that they stop spawning NPCs (!!)
• You should no longer get phantom duplicates in the wheel of pain
• T2 Altars should no longer disappear
• Surrender should no longer break early when using fists
• Removed invisible collision that was blocking a certain chest in the world
• Arrows will now longer shoot in “Random crazy directions”
• Ranged weapons should now always fire correctly
• Rhinos should no longer try to walk through players
• Palisades will now correctly deal damage on contact
• Palisades should now be easier to place
• Fixed a case where players were able to destroy rocks with their fists. Sorry, but this privilege is reserved only for Conan himself.
• Fixed an issue where interactable objects would spam “Press E to interact” on the GUI
• Added an arrow to many placeables to help players orient them correctly
• The Offering of Mitra recipe now correctly requires 1 human heart and 1 unblemished meat
• Fixed an issue with stair placement detection
• The Gong and the Horn will now be audible over greater distances
• Added new emotes that can be learned by tracking down Story NPCs and getting them to teach you

 

Balance and Gameplay Fixes


• Some feat requirements have been simplified or removed. For example, it is now possible to learn Journeyman Craftsman as soon as you hit level 10. Due to the impact of this change all players have gotten a free feat respec.
• Ansel will now respect collision preventing people from moving through walls and other structures
• Non Admins will be restricted to 2 meters of movement when using Ansel 
• Balance pass on Bows. Simple Bow range has been increased, Hyrkanian Bow range has been dramatically increased. Crossbow range has been reduced but they now shoot much faster
• We have done an overhaul on what monsters can damage which tier of buildings. If you haven’t upgraded from sandstone you might want to think about doing that.
• Increased crafting XP across the board with greater increases for crafting more complex (higher tier) items
• Inverted Wooden Roof Wedge and Stonebrick Frame now require Journeyman Craftsman instead of Master Craftsman
• Black rocks in the starting desert are now harvestable
• Higher grade tools will now yield higher amounts of secondary resources (Bark/branches)
• Resetting your Knowledge Points will no longer cause you to lose your selected religion
• Removed Corruption sources from starting area caves
• Removed the Regen component from Purified Meat. This perk is reserved to Mitra's Ambrosia and Healing Potions. Purified Meat is still an extremely good food source
• Player corpses can only be harvested for religious purposes once every 30 minutes
• Balance pass on the amount of materials requires for basic chemistry potions
• Armor drops removed from chests
• Emus will now give less XP

 

Visual Improvements


• The Dogs of the Desert finally got their uniform shipment and will be donning their new outfits
• Visual adjustment to the Medium Tasset to reduce clipping issues
• Visual adjustments to the Setite Choker and Shendyt to reduce clipping issues
• Updated Cutlass and Falcata icons
• Visual flair added to several hairstyles
• Visual improvements to female heads

Please restart your game to make sure you have the latest version!
 
NOTICE
Due to an issue, all server admins are recommended to reset their server's administrator password as soon as their servers are updated to the latest version.


Changelog:
 
Performance and Tech Fixes
  • The game should now start more quickly
 
General Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • Explosive jars should no longer be stackable on top of each other
  • The building placement previews are visible once again in Local play
  • Character Rubberbanding has been reduced
  • Placeables should no longer lose items stored inside them
  • Console command 'Walk' can now only be used by admins in order to fix an exploit
  • The 'History' filter is back and should now function as intended
  • Dropping multiple items from inventory should no longer turn them invisible
  • Using "Loot All" option on corpses and loot bags should now work correctly
 
Balance and Gameplay Fixes
  • Waterskins can once again be refilled from the river
  • Inverted Wooden Roof Wedge and Stonebrick Frame now require Journeyman Craftsman instead of Master Craftsman
  • Hyenas and spiders are now less dangerous
  • Fast attacks with Two-handed hammers have been temporarily disabled
  • Caves near the starting area no longer cause Corruption
  • The gods of Exiles now prevent you from harvesting the same player corpse for 30 minutes. Attempting to do so will show a "Rigor Mortis" message
 
Mods
  • If you activate a mod that requires a restart then the game will inform you
  • Renamed DevKit button to "Conan Exiles Dev Kit"
  • Fixed Crash when opening the shortcut bar in DevKit
  • Fixed possible issue with server admin passwords. All server admins should change their admin passwords as quickly as possible following this patch.
  • Fixed broken mods loading after last patch
 
Known Issues
  • We are aware of some issues with Explosive Jars. We expect to have fixes for these next week.
  • We are also aware of the existence of issues with related to jump "boosting" or jump-crouching. We have a fix and expect to roll it out soon.
  • We are aware that players may occasionally be sent to the Main Menu while loading and can interact with the menu. We are working on a fix.

HOTFIX 18.2.2017

A hotfix has been released. Please restart your games and update your servers. 

We once again recommend that server owners change the admin password once their servers are updated. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you and your respective communities. 

Bugs and Fixes
Fixed a vulnerability with server administrator passwords

After this patch we will start the process of re-enabling BattlEye on official servers. It was always our intention to eventually do this after removing it from the official servers shortly after Early Access launch. When the official servers have been patched they will be restarted with BattlEye implemented.

Since Early Access launch we’ve been regularly updating and patching the game and found no correlation between server performance and BattlEye.

Re-implementing BattlEye will also help combat cheating and hacking on official servers.

Patch 21.02.2017

A new patch has been released!

Please restart your game to make sure you have the latest version!

Changelog:

Performance and Tech Fixes

Fixed long load times into main menu after PC restart
Rolled out a fix for players occasionally being sent to main menu while loading
Made database serialization more robust

Asian region servers are being brought up right now. These servers will have 2x XP and 2x Harvesting for 1 week [excluding Blitz PvP servers]. These servers are physically located outside of Asia. We are still waiting for new server hardware to arrive in Asia. Once the hardware has arrived we will move the game databases onto the servers located in Asia.


General Bug Fixes and Improvements

Spider projectiles have the correct size again
Voice chat now uses Steam peer-to-peer. This should fix cases where voice chat did not work in addition to improving server performance
Voice chat should have less latency and clicks. Please give us feedback about how the new voice chat works and suggest improvements.

Middle-Eastern countries have been moved out of the game`s Asian region

Known issues:

We are currently aware of the following issues in Conan Exiles:

Explosive Jars exploits. We expect to roll out a fix for these very soon.
We are also aware of the existence of issues related to jump "boosting" or jump-crouching. We're working on a solution for this and hope to have it out as quickly as possible.
Stacks of items will in certain situations have their size set to 1. We are working on a fix.
Bows occasionally won't fire or consuming ammunition. We are working on a fix.
We are aware that archers and archer thralls overshoot their targets and are harmless unless at point blank range. We are working on a fix.

A new patch has been released, and it's a big one! Please restart your games and make sure your community servers are updated.

TL;DR (Patch Highlights)
Known Issue: Yellow Lotus Potions sometimes have no effect. This will be fixed as quickly as possible, and in the meantime we recommend not using them.
EXPLOIT FIX: Players can no longer use building previews to move themselves around
This specifically addresses issues with Explosive Jar and Well placement previews
EXPLOIT FIX: Players can no longer use chairs to travel great distances
EXPLOIT FIX: The crouch/jump "boost" should now be fixed
Please get in touch with us if you discover additional instances where jump "boosting" is possible. We understand the impact these issues had on raiding and general basebuilding on PvP servers, and want to make sure this issue is completely eliminated.
EXPLOIT FIX: You can no longer dismantle Explosive Jars that have already exploded
EXPLOIT FIX: Players now respawn immediately upon dying, skipping the death camera
This is a temporary measure to prevent players from retaining their gear after dying. A more complete solution will be added in the future.
EXPLOIT FIX: Players can no longer walk through walls which have not loaded in yet
Fixes for certain server crashes
Bows should now fire consistently on dedicated servers

It is no longer possible to build on the shrine west of the river to prevent NPCs from spawning
Players can drink while underwater again
Players now respawn immediately upon dying, skipping the death camera.
This is a temporary change in order to prevent players from retaining gear after death, and a permanent solution will be implemented in the future.
Added a short delay before you can harvest a corpse to reduce the chance of accidentally hitting the corpse with a non-optimal tool
Players now unequip their weapons when logging in. This fixes a problem with animation states.
Bows should now always consume ammunition
Fixed a collision issue with the giant spider and rebalanced its attacks
Fixed an issue with explosive jars causing camera jitter when colliding with the player in build mode
Players can no longer stack placeables
Players can no longer abort attacks to increase attack speed
Made more monsters able to damage structures. Some can even damage T3 buildings!
Bedrolls and beds can only be bound to one character at a time
Make beds only have one owner, and show the owner in GUI. If you respawn, the bedroll is prioritized over the bed, so bedrolls can be used for expeditions. Please give us feedback on this change.
Players can no longer break the surrender emote by entering combat unarmed
Monsters have received unique attacks and can now knock you back
The pickaxe now suffers no harvesting penalties and give full resources from trees and rocks
You can no longer build in invalid locations if you enter building mode without moving the mouse

Visual Improvements
Gazelle now ragdoll properly after death
Elephants now ragdoll properly after death
Player turn rates and walk rates have been tweaked to fix animation problems
Added new equip animations for the fiber rope in 1st and 3rd person
Add social animations for the Hyena and Crocodile when they are stationary
Various tweaks to armors
Various tweaks to the male and female bodies
Various tweaks to the male and female heads and hair
The Relic Hunters now equip Relic Hunter armor pieces

Text and Localization
Added new translations for dialogues, items and user interface
Added subtitles to several voice-overs

Mods
Fixed an issue where server login would fail if you had too many mods installed

Known Issues
We are aware that crossbows still fire inconsistently. We are working on a fix
Shrines are currently not able to be placed in singleplayer mode. We are aware of this and will fix that as quickly as possible.
Yellow Lotus Potions sometimes have no effect. This will be fixed as quickly as possible, and in the meantime we recommend not using them.

Fixed more issues where accessing underwater corpses was not possible

Some players are unable to build shrines in single-player mode
NPCs can sometimes chase players into the water.

Updated server settings to remove decay on placeables

If you are running a private server you can roll back to a previous game database by copying and renaming the file called "game_build_25635.db" to "game.db" in your Saved folder. We advise you to keep a copy of the "game_build_25635.db" just in case.

Announcing the Exploit Hunters!

We’re still in the early days of our Early Access adventure and there is a lot work left to be done before final release of Conan Exiles in Q1 2018. The feedback we receive from you, the community, is invaluable to us in making sure we improve gameplay, squish bugs, and solve issues ahead of that final release.

One of the most important things we can do to make sure Conan Exiles provides a fair and balanced playing field is making sure we eliminate exploits as early as possible.

To help us with that we will soon be introducing the Exploit Hunters program. Here we will be rewarding players who provide us with information about the most serious exploits. With your help, we will be better equipped to handle potential future exploits which can destabilize servers and avoid the need for server wipes after serious cheating by catching them early.

We will be providing more information and details on the Exploit Hunters program next week.


Server Wipes
We are wiping all buildings on official servers due to recent exploits (private servers are unaffected by this)
We are wiping all inventories (player backpack, containers etc) due to recent exploits (private servers unaffected by this)
We are keeping player character levels (but you get a free re-spec) due to feat changes discussed in TLDR below. Please give us feedback on these changes.
Server admins on private servers may perform a building and inventory wipe which keeps character levels by using the ServerCleanup.bat file in the gamedb folder to clean the current game database

NEW FEATURE: Ruins (decay) system! Cleans up old buildings over time. It is disabled by default on private servers and enabled by default on Official servers

Added serversetting to modify the rate at which machines consume fuel (fuel burn time multiplier)

Players now see name tags of clan members in green text

Known issues
We are aware that some NPCs do not respawn correctly if players build too close. This will be fixed in the next patch.
We are aware of a stamina usage exploit. The fix will be rolled out with the next patch
Due to packaging the install files into .pak archives there is a 15-20 min wait once the client is downloaded before you can launch the game as the files unpack. This will only be the case for this patch.
When removing buildings that have become abandoned, in rare cases it is not possible to build on the same spot. If you leave and rejoin the server it should be possible to build again.
On local play if you use dyes on an equipped armor piece you must re-equip it before the color change becomes visible

Hotfix 23.3.2017 is out.

This fixes issues with server crashes when running multiple servers on a single unit of hardware. 


Known Issues:
We are aware that placing structures partially inside terrain causes client 'lag'.
We are also aware that some structures that were originally placed partially inside terrain may become deleted upon server restart. 
Thralls assigned to crafting stations are evidently missing body parts
Oh god, Blacksmiths

All of these issues will be addressed ASAP.

HOTFIX 24.03.2017


A hotfix has been released! Please restart your games and update your servers.
 

  • EXPLOIT FIX: Corpse looting now works as intended
  • Thralls no longer play sounds when invisible.
  • Reduced range of blacksmith sound effect.
  • Some performance improvements when placing buildings within cliffs
  • Fixed a problem with buildings not being placeable in water volumes

 

Known Issue
  • Placing buildings inside cliffs still cause performance issues in some scenarios. We are working on further optimizations

Before we get to the changelog we have another announcement to make:
 

Join the Exploit Hunters!

Throughout Early Access we would like to reward our community for bringing big exploits to our attention. One of the most important things we can do to make sure Conan Exiles provides a fair and balanced playing field is making sure we eliminate exploits as early as possible.

By working together we can more easily discover exploits which ruin the fun of playing Conan Exiles. So please tell us if you discover such major exploits, and you may receive a nice reward for your efforts and for helping the entire community.

What we are looking for:

  • Serious exploits which can be used in online play and on multiplayer servers. (This would for example be exploits which gave certain players big advantages in the game, like duplicating items or being able to build inside mountains/rocks.)


How to proceed if you find such a serious exploit:

  • Go to conanexiles.com/exploithunters and write a detailed test case for the exploit. You must describe each step needed to reproduce what you have found. Please include your PayPal email so we can reward you for your help. Also, please include your name or Steam user name if you wish it to be included in our list of rewarded Exploit Hunters. 
    We will evaluate all the submissions sent to us but only respond to and reward those which have revealed a serious exploit which we were not aware of.


If we deem your submission valuable you may receive a reward of between $100 and $500 sent to you via PayPal. The size of the reward will depend on how valuable we deem your submission. Every rewarded Exploit Hunter which has included their name or Steam name will be listed in the Tech Support and Bug Reports forum on Steam.

Please note, you will not be rewarded if:

  • We were already aware of the serious exploit you discovered.
  • Someone else had already submitted a report on the serious exploit you had found.
  • We do not deem the exploit you found to be severe enough.

  • Changed the dodge mechanic to give more control such that you can no longer dodge while moving forward or partially forward.

  • Various female hair fixes
  • Visual polish on NPC dialogue window
  • Visual polish on breath meter
  • Players no longer see Crippling Poison counters when nearby Thralls get poisoned

 

Server Settings
  • Added a server setting to modify the rate at which players gain corruption
  • Added a server setting to modify the rate at which entertainers remove corruption
  • You can no longer attempt to change Message of the Day (MOTD) unless you are admin
  • ServerSetting "FriendlyFireDamageMultiplier" if enabled no longer prevents players from taking fall damage
  • Setting MOTD through console now supports inclusion of URLs

  • Added text for all new weapons, dyes and the Dogs of the Desert armor set
  • Added various translations for Brazilian Portuguese

 

Known issues
  • If you have a Thrall in your inventory when trying to dye an item, your game client will crash. This will be fixed in the next patch

Hotfix 28.04.2017

We've released a hotfix for some issues players have been having since our last patch. In this hotfix are also some new exploit fixes.

  • Old foundations will no longer remain when upgrading to a higher tier
  • Chat should now scroll automatically
  • EXPLOIT FIX: You can no longer dodge through certain building pieces on logout/login
  • EXPLOIT FIX: Disabled player input while logging out
  • Players on PvE servers can now die of hunger/thirst/suicide/fall damage (for realz this time)
  • Fixed a problem which prevented you from harvesting bushes multiple times


Known issues:

  • We are aware of problems related to the new emotes (locking characters, inability to swim, etc) and will be putting out a fix in our next patch
  • Resources nodes don't crumble and disappear like normal. This will also be addressed in our next patch
